Join us this Summer for Children and Teen summer reading programs. This years theme is science and we have so many fun activities and events planned!

Come in to the library this week, starting July 8th, to register and get everything you need. Then check out our shelves for great fiction, non-fiction, graphic novels, and audio books exploring the many areas of science. Once children have read, come back to the library for some great prizes and enter in drawings for other prizes. If kids reach their goal they could win a gift certificate, (through generous donation), to Bridgton Books, Bull Moose Music or the Magic Lantern Movie Theater.

Please find all the information you will need, further descriptions and other programs we are hosting, at this link Summer Reading Program Schedule For the most up to date information and any changes please check our website calendar page and click on each individual event.

Teens, we will be navigating the world of Science Fiction. Join us for two book groups this summer, the books are Starters by Lissa Price and The Giver by Lois Lowry. You can pick up more information and a book at the library. We will end the summer with the premier of The Giver at the Magic Lantern Theater in August . Following a public viewing of the film we  welcome Lois Lowry to speak about the writing of the book, her involvement in it’s transformation to film and take questions from readers. Don’t miss your chance to hear an amazing award winning author speak about her great work. Please check our website calendar for more detailed information.

Make sure to check out our Teen Facebook page as well for recommended books, blogs, teen library activities and other interesting things going on in the young adult literary world.

Have a wonderful summer and keep reading!
