Tips for Grown-Ups – Enjoying Library Programs
Some children are more comfortable watching others participate in activities rather than joining in themselves.  Allow kids the freedom to enjoy watching.   Often, as children become more comfortable and learn what to expect, they will begin to join in themselves.

Children are not expected to sit perfectly and ample opportunity will be provided for them to move.

You can help children enjoy StoryTime by modeling good behavior for them.  Please do not visit with other grown-ups during the stories.   There is always time to socialize before and after programs.  Children will have a better experience at StoryTime if the adults stay focused on their children and participate with them during the program.

Older and younger siblings are always welcome to attend library programs.  However, if one of your children is not enjoying the program or becomes restless, please accompany him or her to another area, but do try to rejoin the group if possible.

StoryTime is a wonderful opportunity for you to spend time with your child.  Preschool programs at the library are parent programs, too.  Give yourself the freedom to have fun!
